Razzia in der Moselstraße

Alles heute, Sonntag, 27. Februar ungefähr zwischen 19:00 und 20:00. Wie ich das überblicke, ging es um das berüchtigte St. Tropez hier in der Moselstraße im Frankfurter Bahnhofsviertel.

Ich betrete das Schiffercafé, das an der Ecke der Schifferstraße und der seit wenigen Jahren so trendigen Brückenstraße liegt, rechtzeitig für den Mittagstisch. Rechts am Eingang finden sich zahlreiche Zeitschriften oder auch die FAZ, die Möbel sind schlicht und dunkel, das Café dank seiner hellen Wände und großen Fenster ist jedoch lichtdurchflutet, außerdem gibt es eine kleine Kaffeetheke, die mit zahlreichen Kuchen bestückt ist.

Ich ordere ein Putenschnitzel mit zwei Kartoffelpuffern und kleinem Beilagensalat von der Tageskarte für 8,90 € – das Schnitzel ist normal, das Dressing gut und die Kartoffelpuffer wunderbar würzig und sehr lecker. Leider muss ich noch vor dem Essen schon bezahlen – Schichtwechsel. Das könnte man aber anders lösen, oder?

Ansonsten ist der Eindruck recht positiv, große Frühstückskarte, kleine Snacks, eine Mittagskarte, guter Wacker's-Kaffee und das alles zu moderaten Preisen.

Photo call with Robert Downey, jr. and Ben Stiller who promoted their then new picture "Tropic Thunder" in Donosti. Both of them were really nice and patient with the photographers as well as with the countless fans waiting for them. Hands down!

Ohne zu detailliert etwas zum Film zu schreiben, damit ich hier nicht groß spoilere...:

Ja, Natalie Portman ist großartig (auch wenn sie schon etwas alt aussieht für die Rolle), sie lebt und verkörpert die gespaltene Persönlichkeit der Ballettänzerin Nina auf wirklich atemberaubende Weise, ABER es hätte genügt bzw. den Film sogar um einiges aufgewertet, hätte man es bei dieser subtilen Art von Psychothriller belassen und keine klischeehaften Elemente aus trashigen Horrormovies eingefügt. Die physisch sichtbare Metamorphose zum Schwan sowie die Krankenhausszene mit Winona Ryder hätten schlichtweg fehlen können, ohne dass sie vermisst worden wären. So wirkt der Film teilweise ungewollt komisch und überladen, was wirklich schade ist, da die Schauspieler herausragend sind und die Storyline an sich sehr spannend ist.

Trotzdem (zumindest, sobald er im Fernsehen läuft..): Black Swan ist durchaus sehenswert!

Ranzige Raucherkneipe (und das RAUCHER muss hier betont werden, Sauerstoff ist Mangelware), die von gemischtem Publikum, hauptsache aber Alt-Hippies besucht wird, die Wände und sogar die Decke sind zugekleistert mit Rockpostern aller Art - sowohl von sehr bekannten als auch etwas namenloseren Bands - die Musik ist ebenfalls rocklastig und das durch alle Jahrzehnte, die Preise niedrig, der Laden gerammelt voll, kurz: ein Besuch lohnt sich!!!

If you are a strict non-smoker, avoid this or just stop breathing for the next few hours, the ZappBar is one of the few remaining locations in Frankfurt where it’s still allowed to smoke and people take advantage of that fact. The focus of the ZappBar lies, as the name indicates, on music which can be played pretty loudly. The whole bar including the bathrooms is decorated from walls to ceiling with different poster of rock groups especially from the 60s and 70s.

The prices for the beer are really moderate, one draft beer (0,4 l) costs only 2,90 €. In the process of gentrification and leveling of the gastronomic scene in Frankfurt which nowadays usually pretends to be “cool” and “wealthy”, the ZappBar feels like an unpretentious oasis fighting against this. To have a perfect night sometimes you only need good music, good beer, and good company and all of this you’ll find in this inconspicuous little pub in the heart of the Nordend district.
